Born in Ankara, Turkey in 1983, İsmet Kurtuluş is currently working as a commercial and film director in Istanbul. In 2014 he directed the Turkey’s first puppet feature film “Rimo and Zimo: Peace in Town”. The film premiered at 51st International Antalya Film Festival. In 2017 Kurtuluş co-directed the Danish Film Institute-supported short film “The Last Schnitzel”, a political satire which travelled to some of the world's most important genre film festivals and got many awards. It was also nominated for the Méliès d'Or Award in 2018. In 2021 İsmet Kurtuluş co-produced and directed two feature films with Kaan Arici: “Donadona” and “LCV (Lütfen Cevap Veriniz)”.
