Dénes and Nóra have been married for five years. They are Budapest yuppies working at the same marketing agency and having common friends. We see them for the first time when they’re celebrating a planned adoption of a daughter for which they have been finally granted an approval. The joyful news is, however, overshadowed by an announcement of one of the couples that they are expecting a second child. Dénes and Nóra react differently. On the way home their conversation turns into a loud argument. Eventually, she gets off at the nearest stop and he stays on the bus and gets home first. Nóra appears much later. It’s obvious that something bad has happened. She claims she has been mugged and raped by a man from the bus. But she doesn’t have a definite proof.
This is the beginning of a hellish experience that every victim of sexual violence who wants the perpetrator to be punished knows all too well. What’s more important, the whole situation uncovers deeper problems that the couple have been dealing with, mainly the question of trust and mutual support. This comes to light when desperate Nóra decides on a controversial way to tackle the trauma. The plot of the film has been based on true events.
