Spring has sprung on the calendar, and on this occasion we have decided to start a series of posts about the movies we will present in April as part of festival screenings - for the first (nomen omen) fire we will take Emin Alper's political thriller "Burning Days" which is a Turkish-French-German-Dutch-Greek-Croatian production, awarded at festivals, among others in the categories of best film, best screenplay, best actor, best supporting actor and supporting actress, as well as for best editing, direction, cinematography and music In turn, the list of awards won by the director himself at festivals in Ankara, Antalya, Berlin, Karlovy Vary, Sarajevo, Sofia or Venice reaches more than forty. Impressive, isn't it?
The protagonist of the story is a young prosecutor Emre, who gets a job in the Turkish town of Yaniklar after the mysterious disappearance of his predecessor. An ambitious and idealistic boy is supposed to solve a murder mystery, but his appearance in the province becomes a threat to the stagnant systems and the current status quo. It soon becomes apparent that by appearing in this world Emre will be forced to fight for his life...
