"Exodus"

Dear viewers! Another film in our repertoire is the drama "Exodus" hailed as a revelation at last year's festival in Venice. Syrian director Soudade Kaadan set his plot in Damascus. The heroes of the story are fourteen-year-old Zeina and her parents - one of the last inhabitants of a city almost razed to the ground as a result of the war. One day a missile makes a huge hole in the roof of a building the family lives in, and turns a façade wall into rubble. Having been locked in their fortress governed by a strict father, now they have to live being “on display”. With a little help from a young boy from the neighbourhood, Zeina begins to sneak out through the hole in the roof to feel freedom for the first time. The family is torn between joining the wave of refugees and staying and defending the remains of their property.
The screening as part of the "Eurasia" Festival will be the Polish premiere of the film.

It will be shown in its original language with subtitles in Polish and English.
