Serbia, 1996. Stefan, a teenage boy, spends his idyllic holidays in the countryside at his grandparents’ house. His grandpa tells him a story about his trip to the Olympics in Seul and the grandma prepares stuffed red peppers. When the boy’s mother, a successful big city woman, comes to visit, it turns out the family isn’t that ideal after all. It comes to light that Marklena is a representative for Serbian dictator Milošević’s party that has been engaged in bloody wars and crimes against humanity in the Balkans for years. This night everyone awaits the election results in which the opposition hopes to triumph in the name of peace and European future…
Stefan can afford no to be interested in politics. Now, however, the politics gets its interest in him. The election night will change the direction of his “coming of age”, torn between his family, love, and friends. The time of rural idyll will be replaced by turbulent days of the revolution which makes it impossible to trust even the strongest feeling. When you’re “Goebbels in skirt”’s son, life can make you pay your dues.
